In Hill Harvey-Wood’s first project outside the UK an ensemble of villas and walled gardens cascade towards the sea and are arranged around a picturesque lane
Currently under construction, the 3,400m2 scheme takes inspiration from both traditional courtyard forms and nineteenth century merchant houses typical of the area. Simply built, solid buildings with elegant, shaded loggias and verandas create airy and comfortable environments whilst terraces over multiple levels combine to create a scenic, stepped roof-scape.
Vehicle access is restricted to a perimeter zone where shaded recesses provide discreet entrances to each plot. Each garden adjoins a narrow walkway cutting through the site, leading to the beach and connecting two shared courtyards at the heart of the project. This spine links shared facilities and knits the project together so that six special houses become a coherent collection of volumes with a single identity that resonates with the built heritage of local trading ports.
